When it comes to Android mp3 players we can boil the list of name brands down to Samsung, Archos, Creative, Latte, and Phillips. As in previous posts we think Samsung is the leader in Android mp3 players and tablets and close to the top with it’s Android smartphones. The 5 inch Samsung Galaxy Android Mp3 player even gives the Apple iPod a run for it’s money. With a 5″ touchscreen display, front and rear cameras, and all of the features of the Android marketplace.

The Archos 500 GB used to be on our list of Top 10 Mp3 Players, but we had to remove it because the concept was great, but the execution wasn’t. Even though the player had a huge 500 GB capacity and HD multimedia capabilities there were some support issues the French company had not quite conquered. Well they seem to have gotten it right with the Archos 43 Internet Tablet. This mp3 player Internet tablet has a 4.3 inch screen and comes in 8GB and 16GB capacities.
With the updated Android operating system, Archos has gotten it right. This player is small enough to fit in your pocket and comes with a leg stand to set on a table or your lap. This player has an HD touchscreen and accelerometer. The built-in HD camera and camcorder has a 720p resolution. Thanks to the use of Android and the Android marketplace Archos doesn’t have any of the proprietary issues it had with previous models.
Although it still has Wi-Fi and full PC and HDTV connectivity. The Archos 43 can also use your smartphone as a modem if Wi-Fi is not available. This player can even browse your PC for media to connect your media and devices. This player also recognizes a variety of music formats. Which allows you to keep the playing of your music library as simple as possible. This player also has an open interface for programmers. Which allows for the installation of alternative operating systems and app development.

Maybe the under dog of all of the new Android players is the Latte ICE Smart Smart Media Tablet, but don’t let that fool you. This player is actually a very sharp idea. It has a 5 inch screen and all of the features of Android 2.3. With this player you can watch HD video, play games, listen to mp4 audio, use it for a full media player to browse the net or connect to your TV or keyboard or other peripherals. This player has full 1080 p HD and a fast CPU with built-in 3D accelerator. This is a big package at a small price. This probably won’t be the last we hear about the Latte ICE Android tablets.

When it comes to audio quality the folks over at Philips can’t be under estimated. They have been making a small dent in the mp3 player market with their GoGear line of mp3 players. There foray into the Android mp3 player market is the Philips GoGear Connect 3. This player boasts high-speed Wi-Fi connections for downloading from the Android Market place or the Amazon Appstore, a 3.2 inch LCD with 720p HD playback. A capacitive touchscreen for easy navigation and, of course, the thing that makes the Philips mp3 players worth having, superb sound quality.
This player comes with sound isolation in-ear headphones and using Philips SongBird it is easy to sync all your music and even upgrade the firmware on your player. You can even sync your iTunes library with the SongBird library. Philips may not be the main brand of mp3 players, but they are still in the race.
